Little blessings come our way a lot here at Blessings Photography. We had a recent session that will just melt your heart. We have such wonderful customers! We have really enjoyed spending time with the Kemp family. The latest session with their little gal captured our hearts. Talk about personality! We had so much fun with her during her session. We sang and played tea party, dress up, and movie star! She even fed her baby doll a cookie. That just goes to show you how sweet she is! Thank you Sherri and Jeremy for sharing her with us! :)

Summer Senior Sessions - Keep on Heating Up

Our summer senior sessions here at Blessings Photography have been a blast this summer. They sure have been hot though. Temperatures have already been outrageous. It's scary to think about what it will be like in July and August. We have enjoyed photographing 2011 seniors from J.B. Pennington, Cleveland, Douglas, and Oneonta so far. We have many more scheduled both inside Blount County and the surrounding areas including Cullman and Birmingham.
Today we are featuring a senior from Douglas. She is in the Douglas band and plays the saxophone. This girl loves jazz, and I just remembered something too. She was supposed to play us a tune, and we got so busy that we forgot to do that. Elizabeth has the best personality. She didn't even get upset when it rained. We just simply went out in it and shot anyway. It was a little tricky and we all got drenched, but it was well worth it! Thankfully, the rain did go away, and we were able to shoot here some on the farm too later that afternoon.

This darling little girl has been such a blessing since we met her several months ago. She did not feel well during her session, but she still came out of her shell to play with us anyway and this "in the moment" portrait was one of my favorite. It is hard to believe we have known her for a year now. She has grown and changed so quickly. I can't wait to see the collage Nathan is going to do of her stages of growth...I'm not going to give away too much now. It is going to be really neat. This elegant little lady is ready for the holidays. We used this portrait for her family's Christmas card this year. I love the Bible verse they used. (And they made haste, and they found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe, lying in a manger. Luke 2:16)

It is hard to believe Christmas is almost here. We just have 6 more days! It sure comes quick. Wow! We are still getting orders to people and trying to get our last minute gifts ourselves.

Beautiful in the Road

This beautiful senior came to us with smiles and was ready to travel around the farm for some unique portraits.

We have really enjoyed getting to do a ton of outside portraits this year. Now that it is so cold and the leaves have just about all fallen, we have moved inside the studio. Of course, that does not mean that Nathan has stopped pulling the outside indoors with composites and other creative ideas. We are continuing to book 2009 seniors and have been booking many sessions for spring outdoor sessions. Those sessions are already very limited. So, if you are planning on booking an outdoor session for the spring, please do not wait too late.

A Man with a Fish

Nathan got an interesting call the other night. A man with a fish wanted his catch of the day documented. We were in the middle of a senior session when we got the call. But as soon as we were finished, we headed to see what all the fuss was about. He just couldn't turn down this opportunity. Isn't it a beauty! I think Nathan was a little jealous. :)

We had a lot of fun in the studio with this senior. First we went outdoors with his truck around the farm for some neat shots (stay tuned for those at a later date) and then we actually played a little basketball inside the studio. I'm posting one of Nathan's creations for you to see. I will try to post one his collages with some of the actual basketball shots we did in the studio soon. The action shots are really neat...added with Nathan's creativity...well I'll just have to say they are awesome! It's been crazy around here. Nathan has been experimenting with some different effects and customers have really liked the different things he has been doing. Every time I turn around I'm saying, "Wow, what are you going to come up with next?" Nathan has truly been blessed with a talent and love for what he does. I have really enjoyed talking with clients lately and getting into the creative side of the business. I can't help but feel a little sad about summer ending. It has been a wonderful summer for our business, and we appreciate all of you who have made it into our studio and around the farm with us. This is a recent portrait of Greg Bailey, one of our close friends, who serves in the army. He has served overseas in Afghanistan.

Nathan and I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all of those who have served and are currently surving in our armed forces. Both of us feel very blessed to live in this great country and know that many have given so much to make sure we have freedom here in the United States. We want to mention a few special people in our lives who have served in past wars and conflicts and who are currently serving in our military:

I am sorry it has taken me so long to post to the blog. We have been very busy lately, and we have been working on our Blount County Fair booth. We will put the finishing touches on our booth tomorrow. It begins Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. We hope you will come by and visit us. We have lots of new portraits and books on display. We also have information on upcoming events. We will try and post a picture of our booth one day this week. We have some things to give away, so don't forget to register with us.
